Got Food Waste?
We can help!
Taranaki sends thousands of tonnes of food waste to landfill annually. A significant portion comes from commercial kitchens.
We can offer you a hassle-free, local, and scalable food waste diversion system that will be processed and used in Taranaki.
We collect food waste from any organisation or business (hotels, restaurants, cafes, corporate offices), then locally process it using the Bokashi method. This method is easy, hassle-free, and does not require turning and aerating the compost: the bins stay closed.
Learn more about the Bokashi method here.
The resulting pre-compost is then delivered to local farms, market gardens, and community gardens, where it is further refined using the Johnson-Su composting method to create microbial-rich compost that restores soil health.

Testimonials:
Columbus Coffee - Mitre10 MEGA New Plymouth - Nicole Attrill, Marketing & Customer Experience Manager
“One of our main sustainability goals is to reduce our overall waste to landfill, and while we recycle, bale cardboard and soft plastic, a major waste point with having Columbus Coffee has been how to deal with our organic waste.
It is so exciting to be a part of this circular food project and I congratulate Sustainable Taranaki for their work in this space.
How great that we can now deal with organic waste locally, to the benefit of local farms to regenerate soil, this will make a big difference to our reduction work.”
Novotel New Plymouth - Jayesh Bala, General Manager
“We signed up [to Green Loop] because we focus on sustainability at Novotel New Plymouth, and we want to understand [more] and do better.
And we believe that Green Loop provides a solution that has a long-term approach to sustainability and being able to give back to farmers through supporting the journey to improved soil health, and that being a closed loop.”
